A beautiful friend and powerful being in all of our lives, Jose-Maria Luis Ramas (Joe) – passed at 10:40am Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
The beauty, love and energy we all are blessed with by simply experiencing this amazing community builder, rocket scientist, yoyo master, musician, performer, sushi chef, friend, loved one, flows in all of us. Please share that same love to those you hold close to your heart today.
Let us recognize the silver lining and embrace the beauty of friendship and connection we have with each other, thanks to this beautiful man.
The family is overwhelmed by the love and support they have seen through the community.
He appeared very peaceful as he said goodbye to this world.

The greatest testament to the enormous positive impact of your life is how much poorer the world has become in your absence. This happened so fast… yesterday I could not have imagined that I would never get to see you again, and it had already been so so long since we last spoke.
I’m missing you terribly, and I doubt this feeling will ever go away. My heart and thoughts go out to your family and friends.

Sadly, I never had the opportunity to meet Joe. I learned through social media of Joe’s accident and then watched his Ted Video (which was so incredibly powerful). I ponder the question of how can a human that I never knew personally affect me so deeply today – the sadness I feel for his passing is overwhelming. His presence and his through provoking Ted Video are so incredibly needed and necessary in the world we live in. I send my deepest condolences to the family and friend of this unique, remarkable and generous human being. May his legacy continue to touch as many lives as heavenly possible.
