Family, friends and community,
What is sure to be one of many celebrations, a public gathering to remember Joe and his impact on our community will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 12:00-2:00pm. There will be live music performed by a couple of Joe’s favorite artists, a slideshow highlighting some of his artistic endeavors, and a bit of wisdom from Joe himself.

A beautiful friend and powerful being in all of our lives, Jose-Maria Luis Ramas (Joe) – passed at 10:40am Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
The beauty, love and energy we all are blessed with by simply experiencing this amazing community builder, rocket scientist, yoyo master, musician, performer, sushi chef, friend, loved one, flows in all of us. Please share that same love to those you hold close to your heart today.
Let us recognize the silver lining and embrace the beauty of friendship and connection we have with each other, thanks to this beautiful man.
The family is overwhelmed by the love and support they have seen through the community.
He appeared very peaceful as he said goodbye to this world.
Thank you for your presence and love.
More information to come.
Yesterday the clever westerly roused us from our studios and laboratories and swept us to Joe’s door.
And the Unicorns arrived
And the flyers did fly
And the paints came alive,
Glitter floating awry
And we laughed in the community that Joe built
And the physicists arrived
And we sat and we sighed
And we hugged and we cried
And we shared in the community that Joe built
And the family arrived,
At least those still alive
And while we tried not to pry
They welcomed the community that Joe built
Now we’ve said our goodbyes
The tears drip from our eyes
And we try to devise
A way to continue the community that Joe built
What is dying?
I am standing on the seashore.
A ship sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.
She is an object and I stand watching her
Till at last she fades from the horizon,
And someone at my side says, “She is gone!” Gone where?
Gone from my sight, that is all;
She is just as large in the masts, hull and spars as she was when I saw her,
And just as able to bear her load of living freight to its destination.
The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her;
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “She is gone”,
There are others who are watching her coming,
And other voices take up a glad shout,
“There she comes” – and that is dying.
Joe’s condition is not improving. The family has requested all of his friends and loved one’s to come by today to show their love and say goodbye before 8pm this evening. They will be removing Joe from life support tomorrow morning.
Joe’s family has kindly requested no gifts, flowers or other offerings. Per their request, we are setting up a fund where all donations can be directed. More information to come.
Both Joe and Stacey’s families are now welcoming visitors. Thank you for honoring their prior request for privacy.
